It is a basic law of physics that hot air rises and in high roofed buildings this will cause a temperature gradient with hot air under the roof and cooler air at floor level. Calecon thermal economiser units will automatically recirculate high level hot air, reducing stratification and associated heat losses.

WASTE OIL FIRED MANUAL IGNITION ECONOMY HEATERS

Thermobile waste oil fired heaters can be operated using waste oil from diesel or petrol engines, gearboxes, transmissions, hydraulic systems, diesel oil or any combination of these. The following must not be used; solvents, thinners, petrochemical based oils, transformer oil or any oil above S.A.E. 90.

Full combustion is achieved in a vaporising system and non burnable residue is retained in the burner pan. This system does not produce any unpleasant smell or smoke and the emissions from the flue stack are well below permitted contamination levels.

INFORMATION RELATING TO FLUE PIPING

The standard flue kit consists of:

Models AT306, AT307 & AT400
1 x T Piece complete with Draught Stabiliser
4 x 1m lengths of Flue Piping (150mm dia.) including change-over length.
1 x Terminal pipe

Model AT500
1 x T Piece complete with Draught Stabiliser
5 x 1m lengths of Flue Piping (200mm dia.) including change-over length.
1 x Terminal pipe

Supports
Wall bands are available to suit the Flues and for wall fixed installation should be located at 3 metre centres. The bands give a 50mm clearance to the wall but extension brackets are also available with depths of 50mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm and 250mm. When combined with wall bands the extensions offer a wall clearance of 50mm to 300mm.

A Guy Wire fixing bracket is available to provide extra lateral support where the flue extends more than 1.5m above the last wall band, or for inter-connection with the roof flashing.

Roof Penetrations
Flat and angled flashings of sheet aluminium are available to provide suitable weather cover where the flue penetrates a roof. 'Dektite' silicone flashings are also available and highly recommended.

Storm collars of aluminium are also available and should be fitted to the pipe immediately above the flashings.

Terminations
To prevent leakage of rainwater into the pipe at joints which may be exposed above roof level, a change-over section is supplied in the flue kit. This section of pipe is provided with a male crimped coupling at each end and is designed for use where the flue passes through the roof: one end should be installed inside the building and one outside. any subsequent components are installed inverted, i.e. with the male coupling upwards and fitted and secured in the normal way.

Rain caps are not permitted with waste oil fired heaters. The terminal pipe is designed to deflect rain water down the outer section.

NB. All lengths and fittings are fabricated from 0.55mm Type 430 Stainless Steel.
